How to Sit and Work Without Back Pain
Sitting can be a
pain...literally. Sitting in a poor position can lead to back pain, neck pain,
headaches, and more. This video shares a few tips that help me stay in a
better position as I sit to work.
In summary:
- Position your hips in the back of the chair
- Adjust your seat, or choose a chair, to place your feet flat on floor and knees equal to hips
- Place a towel roll in the small of your back to maintain neutral spine
- Position your shoulder blades back and down
- Position your screen at arm’s length away and slightly below eye level
- If available, rest arms on armrest to keep shoulders relaxed
